Daktronics operates on fiscal year ending in April, sales occur from both standard product and revenue and percent complete revenue recognition, and trades on the NASDAQ under DAKT.
We are seeking a SEC Reporting Manager to join our fast paced, results oriented Accounting Department. The individual filling this role will be the go-to person for knowledge of regulatory and statutory compliance and will also include the timely production of an accurate SEC document following presentation to upper management and external parties. The SEC reporting manager will present proposed and current changes related to statutory reporting to the management team and train appropriate accounting personnel of changes. In addition, this position will assist in creating project plans to change and implement processes and systems relating to new regulatory requirements.
Duties for this position include:
1. Preparation and coordination of Forms 10-K and 10-Qs, related footnotes and supporting schedules.
2. Preparation of XBRL tagging in accordance with SEC regulations.
3. Preparation and participation with other SEC filings for transactions such as business combinations, debt/equity registration statements, etc.
4. Preparation and review of financial information within investor presentations and press releases.
5. Serve as a super user of the Companys financial reporting tools.
6. Preparation of SEC and/or GAAP checklists.
7. Coordinate audit support & review filings with external auditors.
8. Collaborate with senior management, CFO, and controllers in the preparation of press releases and financial statement disclosures.
9. Identify process improvements, implement changes and ensure best practices.
10. Keeping current with emerging accounting and reporting guidance and trends including FASB standards and interpretations, SEC releases, and speeches along with develop training material for internal education.
11. Leading financial research efforts and documentation of the impacts of new accounting pronouncements along with assisting in the implementation plan for new accounting pronouncements implementation to incorporate changes needed in ERP and other systems while leading changes needed in processes.
12. Work on special projects and analysis as required.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelors degree, preferably in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration. CPA certification or Masters in Professional Accountancy desired.
2. Prefer 5 plus years of experience in recent SEC reporting experience, Big-4 or regional accounting experience.
3. Current knowledge of US GAAP (including SEC regulations and SAB).
4. Knowledge of IFRS preferred.
5. Ability to analyze, problem-solve, and exercise discretion and independent judgment.
6. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, accurately and tactfully, both verbally and in writing. As well as the ability to prepare well written summaries in a clear and concise manner.
7. Ability to work independently and define and achieve long-term goals as well as work effectively on cross-functional teams
8. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
9. Background and MVR checks will be conducted.
